In Reading Boots Episode 037, you and your child will learn how to play the Period game. In this during reading strategy, you and your child will find periods throughout the book. Whenever you find one, you and your child will say, “A period tells us to stop,” and paint a period in the air with imaginary paint.

By pointing out, “air” painting, and talking about periods, your child will understand the importance and purpose of periods. Your child’s understanding of punctuation will help him/her become a more fluent independent reader. Your child will love the period cheer!
