Child Participation Strategy | Episode 003

Thanks for watching my video on the Child Participation Strategy. This “during reading” strategy gives your child a voice and an active role in the read aloud experience.

In the Child Participation Strategy, you will give your child the important job of reading a specific word, phrase, or sentence every time it appears in the text. Through practice and prompting your child to read his/her word, phrase, or sentence, you will help him/her read with expression, recognize sight words, and feel ownership over the reading process. Child Participation is sure to be a fun strategy for you and your child.
