Vocabulary Preview | Episode 061

In Reading Boots Episode 061, you will learn an important Before Reading Strategy called, Vocabulary Preview. In this strategy, you will select a few words from the read aloud to point out and discuss with your child. After pointing out a new word, model how you can use the sentence to figure out the new word. Modeling how to use context clues allows your child to see an important metacognitive comprehension strategy in action.

Using the Vocabulary Preview strategy before reading will allow your child to have a better understanding of the story which will lead to a more enjoyable read aloud experience. Happy reading!
