Sticky Note Awards | Episode 032
In Reading Boots Episode 032, you’ll learn a fun after reading strategy called Sticky Note Awards. In Sticky Note Awards, you will read an award winning book to your child, then give him/her the opportunity to give the book an original award. You will ask your child why the book was a great book or what he/she liked about the book, write it on a sticky note “award”, then place it in the back of the book.
Reading and talking about books that have won awards like the Geisel, Caldecott, and Newberry awards creates excitement around reading new books. Reading award winning books also exposes your child to a large variety of quality children’s literature.
