Spotlight on Not a Box | Episode 054

Reading Boots Episode 054 spotlights the children’s book, “Not a Box” by Antoinette Portis. “Not a Box” is about a bunny who pretends that his box is all sorts of interesting things like a burning building and rocket ship. The bunny gets questioned throughout the story about what he’s doing with a box and insists that it is not a box.  

After reading the book aloud, show your child an empty box and ask him/her what else the box could be. Encourage your child to move the box to look like their object or idea. This activity allows your child to use his/her imagination to expand upon the ideas from the book. Your child will love “Not a Box” and will love creating his/her own “not a box”!
