Reading Boots Episode 053 spotlights the children’s book, “Madlenka” by Peter Sis. “Madlenka” is a beautiful story about a little girl who loses her tooth and can’t wait to share the news with all of her neighbors.

This book is an excellent example of both a mirror and window book. “Madlenka” acts as a mirror for young children who have shared the experience of losing a tooth. The book also acts as a window to the outside world because Madlenka’s neighbors are from many different countries and share a little bit about their countries with her.
